| Introduction |
The
Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP) is part
of a continuing longitudinal study of the American higher
education system with the primary purpose of assessing
the effects of college on students. The Freshman Survey,
a project of the CIRP, is designed to obtain data on the
characteristics of students attending American colleges
and universities as first-time, full-time freshmen. |
