Ryan Chung, Director
Dr. Chung completed his BA in Business Administration at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in spring 2001. After receiving his BA, he served in the Taiwanese military for two years and then worked as a school teacher and fitness yoga instructor. In June 2004, he arrived in Boston as an international student at Springfield College, Springfield, Massachusetts where he earned a master’s degree in 2007 and a Ph.D. in 2011 in Teaching and Administration. Soon after receiving his Ph.D., he moved to the Midwest joining Rockford University, Rockford, Illinois, as the Coordinator of Institutional Research from August 2011 to August 2014. He also taught undergraduate courses in both the Physical Education Department and the Mathematics Department (General Education – (1) Wellness and (2) Elements of Statistics). In August 2014, Dr. Chung joined the University of Oklahoma as Assistant Director, Office of Academic Assessment and also taught a course, Personal Health, in the Department of Health and Exercise Science.
In August 2017, Dr. Chung was excited and honored to join Oklahoma State University as the Director of University Assessment and Testing, working for one of the top research universities in the US. Dr. Chung’s research fields include but are not limited to: global aspects in higher education in the US; quantitative and qualitative research methods and survey design; and student learning outcomes assessment and general education assessment. Among his accomplishments, Dr. Chung published a book in Taiwan: The Truth Be Told: Across Time and Space – The Wisdom of Lao Zi (2014).
James R. Knecht, Assistant Director of Testing and Technology; STAR System Coordinator
James R. Knecht joined the UAT staff in November 2014. Previously, he worked at OSU as the Learning Center Coordinator for Academic Services for Student-Athletes where he oversaw the tutoring program for OSU student-athletes. He earned a Master of Science in Telecommuications Management from OSU in 2015, a Master of Business Administration from OSU in 2013, and a Master of Arts in English from Texas Tech University in 2003. In addition to overseeing the OSU Testing Center, James also coordinates the STAR System, OSU's implementation of the GradesFirst advising, tutoring, and retention system.

Steve Brown, Computer Specialist I
Steve Brown has been Technology Manager for University Assessment and Testing at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater for nine years. His responsibilities include all technology support for University Assessment as well as desktop support, lab support, and database development for the Testing Center at OSU-Stillwater. Before his work with UAT, Steve provided multimedia support for the Faculty Support Center at OSU Stillwater, and years previous he provided desktop, lab, and database support for the College of Arts and Sciences for a total combined 20 years of higher education Information Technology experience.
Alison Witham, Administrative Assistant
Alison Witham joined University Assessment and Testing in February 2016.
Brenda Miller, Sr. Administrative Support Specialist
In 1986, Brenda began employment at the Bureau of Tests and Measurements at OSU, which later became University Assessment and Testing. Prior to coming to OSU, Brenda attended Wichita State University while also serving as the Exceptions Secretary to the Assistant Dean of University College.
Mari Ann Medlock, Sr. Administrative Support Specialist
Mari Ann Medlock began working at OSU in 1994 in the Department of Forestry, which is now Natural Resource Ecology & Management. She also worked in University Academic Services, the Department of Horticulture & Landscape Architecture, and the Student Success Center. She graduated in 2009 from OSU with a B.S. in public horticulture. Mari Ann has been working in University Assessment and Testing since May 2010.
Sandra Rowland, Sr. Administrative Support Specialist
Sandra Rowland began working at OSU in 2011 in the Department of Physics. She has also worked in the Office of the Registrar. She graduated in 2011 with a B.S. in Education. Sandra has been working in University Assessment and Testing since October 2016.

Debbie Humphrey joined University Assessment and Testing in March 2017.
