Miller Analogies Test

The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is a high-level analytic ability test requiring individuals to solve problems that are stated as analogies.  It is intended to assess an individual’s ability to recognize relationships between ideas, fluency in the English language, and general knowledge of literature, philosophy, history, science, math, and the fine arts.  Most of the analogies on the MAT are verbal, but a few are quantitative.  The exam lasts 60 minutes and includes 120 partial analogies.

Important Information
  • Bring two forms of I.D. – one primary, government-issued photo I.D. with signature (such as a driver’s license or passport) and any secondary form of I.D.

  • Calculators (including watches with built-in calculators), books, papers, or any reference materials are NOT permitted.

  • Testers may not ask questions once testing has begun; questions should be asked before the test begins.

  • Any tester caught giving or receiving assistance will be required to immediately leave the test. The test will not be scored, and fees will not be refunded.
