Surveys Facilitated by University Assessment

University Assessment has helped facilitate multiple collaborative surveys across OSU campuses. Some of these surveys are described below.

  • OSU Needs Survey

This survey was developed by University Assessment in collaboration with the Ferguson College of Agriculture. It was administered to first-year students in a representative course in the college during multiple years to achieve college-wide longitudinal comparisons. It was administered once to first-year students in representative courses across all colleges and will be administered again in future semesters to achieve institutional longitudinal comparisons.

  • OSU Graduate and Professional Student Experience (GPSES)

In collaboration with the Graduate College and the Graduate and Professional Student Government Association, University Assessment developed the GPSES to gather input and feedback from OSU graduate and professional students regarding their graduate education experience at OSU, particularly regarding assistantship needs, expenses, and health insurance.

  • OSU Campus Climate Sexual Violence Survey (SVS)

The SVS was developed by the Office of Student Support and Conduct, in collaboration with University Assessment, to gather input and feedback from all OSU students on safety, security, and community needs.

  • OSU Police Department Customer Feedback Survey (OSUPD-CFS)

In collaboration with the OSU Police Department, University Assessment developed the OSUPD-CFS. This customer feedback survey has been administered multiple years to OSU students, faculty, staff, and administration across campuses. OSUPD used the results for essential decision-making purposes.

  • Transfer Student Surveys for ETI Grant

University Assessment worked with the Department of Transfer and Student Veteran Success to conduct two surveys to better understand the needs of the transfer student population at OSU and to support the Equity Transfer Initiative (ETI) Grant. The employee survey and the transfer student survey were administered to employees and transfer students (respectively) on the OSU-Stillwater and NOC campuses.

  • OSU Fire Protection Publications Organizational Climate Survey (FPP-OCS)

OSU Fire Protection Publications (FPP) collaborated with University Assessment to develop and administer a survey to all FPP employees (approximately 70). This was not an institutional survey; rather it was a small (in comparison), departmental survey.  FPP administration have been interested in continuous improvement and in cultivating the ideal working environment for its employees. There was buy-in and interest from the majority of employees, and the results provided meaningful information that lead to informed, evidence-based decisions.
