Annual Outcomes Assessment Reports are required for all OSU degree programs by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) and are used for program improvement and accreditation reviews by the Higher Learning Commission.

Mission

UAT's mission is to support Oklahoma State University's mission and strategic priorities by leading and supporting assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement efforts that enhance educational quality, student learning, and student success, while ensuring compliance with applicable A&M System, state, institutional, and accrediting requirements.

Assessment Function:
To uphold Oklahoma State University's land-grant heritage by leading efforts to assess the educational impact of the university experience on student learning and student success; providing assessment guidance and support for the continuous improvement of educational programs and services; and identifying gaps in student learning that facilitate university-wide contributions toward the common goal of student success and retention.

Accreditation Function:
To support Oklahoma State University's mission and strategic priorities by coordinating accreditation efforts, facilitating institutional compliance, and ensuring alignment with requirements established by the A&M System, the state, and institutional and accrediting bodies.

OSU Assessment Efforts

• UAT leads the evaluation of program quality and institutional effectiveness, connecting assessment activities and outcomes to strategic planning and institutional decision-making.
• UAT promotes student learning and success by providing OSU and its institutional assessment councils and committees with the structures, evidence, processes, and expertise needed to make data-informed, student-focused decisions. Through these efforts, UAT fosters faculty cooperation and engagement by providing ongoing guidance, development, and support.
• UAT develops and implements strategies for data collection, analysis, reporting, and decision-making through processes outlined in the OSU Assessment Plan, including General Education assessment, Program Outcomes assessment, Satisfaction and Engagement evaluation, and the Student Survey of Instruction.
  OSU Accreditation Efforts
• UAT serves as a critical resource in facilitating accreditation-related activities and ensuring compliance with requirements established by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
• UAT serves as the primary connection between OSU and HLC, leading institutional reaffirmation efforts and coordinating the collection, organization, and submission of documentation and evidence demonstrating OSU's compliance with accreditation requirements. UAT also provides specialized expertise and guidance related to accreditation criteria and institutional compliance.
• UAT develops and strengthens processes that connect assessment activities to accreditation expectations and reporting requirements, including Academic Program Review (APR), Low Productivity, and Post-Audit reporting to the OSRHE.
